The Rest Of Me

Everything was perfect wrapped up in our love
My knight in shining armor sent from above

But the world had to crumble and someone had to fall
I tried and I cried and I gave you my all

Life was never better than the night I met you
compassionate mysterious honest and true

But hell broke the barrier and crossed human ground
to steal back the only man fate and grace found

I'll never give another soul half that kind of love
never pray for happiness sent from above

But I had my chance and gave in to destiny
never even thought that you'd take the rest of me
