Why do people tell me to “keep writing”
As if I might stop without their enlightening
Why do I always get the generic caring
Like awesome, cool and thank you for sharing
If originality came in a can
I’d buy a couple cases and send it like spam
Wham, bam, and thank you, ma’am
I love getting comments, don’t hear me wrong
I just want some honesty thrown in along
I wanna hear I suck if that’s what you’re thinking
But then tell me why instead of leaving me freaking
I love it when people think my poems’ great
But seeing ‘great!’ all alone is just what I hate
And yes, I know I do the same thing
It’s just when I do it has a nice ring
