Aphrodite is a liar;
this shinyspecial beauty, this neverexpected majestic guest,
diamond-eyed and dripping with
heady incensual promises: a full-lipped, full-blooded,
full-fathom-five-i'm-falling
deceiver

and she is too-perfectly smiling

at me.

my voice snarlwhispered: "you are not love!
love has thorns
shadows
and knives.
You are hiding the knives."

She does not answer; she laughs and dances
in fire and amethyst,
turns up the tempo
on the beat below
and gives me a subliminal rapier kiss

takes my blood
without my notice:

the mirror reflects heartcut liquidcrimson
pooling at my feet -
painlessly
hypnotically
endlessly

Fatally

of course

but so beautiful.

On the other hand , This can be taken to a literal end. A shock from the past ebbing back into our future..Wasting away the barren flesh that wears so thin upon us all. Like baby fat or the rinsed stuffing of an old chair.

The first stanza literally knocked my socks off. And not only that , But you did it with a talented pen. Your wording is original and , Somehow , Mellow and still alive. It invokes a clever appeal...A tragic frame caught in beauty. An eruption.

'diamond-eyed and dripping' Such idiosyncratic cadence, the staccato style & beat tempo of this heartcut composition; bites w/ a subliminal rapier kiss: love like a knife. Deadly and beautiful.

On Monday January 26th, 2004, Bakkhus Unbound (1114) writes:
the rhythm is like 'liquidcrimson', melting, dripping, off a purr_versed poet's tongue; the verse's purr...drowns the reader deeply...
