His smile was a winter song...

Legendary and I knew it
and you knew I knew it too
Dark as midnight, voice like velvet,
Intensity embodied true, and
I knew then I was your slave girl
You sat back and laughed awhile, and
I saw flames flash through the winter
Through the winter of your smile.

Power was your greatest pleasure
Showed me death and made it sing
I believed you were the devil
Satan could do anything, and
I knew then you'd always beat me
I can't meet your famous style, and
I felt burning in the winter
In the winter of your smile.

You told me your story and kept me forever
and touched me like lightning and dreamt me your hell,
Dressed me in leather and loved me for lying
and kissed me with passion, you knew me so well,
And I dreamed of darkness, of demons and danger
and lust in the evening and flying much higher,
Of magick and mystery, incense and liquor -
I looked in your eyes and they flashed with green fire.

Everyone who knows you wants you
Either dead or for their own,
You reject all but a few, for
You do better all alone, and
Then you touched me so serenely
Like you knew your kiss would thrill, and
I fell like so many others
Many others you would kill.

And I danced in roses, in promise and beauty,
In mystical havens and burgundy wine
In fancy and freedom and pleasure and romance
In infinite fixtures unchanging with time,
And you gave me splendour and fathoms of favours
and darkest luxuriant perfect desire,
And my love, my darkling, obsessional demon -
I looked in your eyes and they flashed with green fire.

Love like poison and I knew it
and you knew I knew it too
Dark as Hades, touch of crimson,
Deadly star embodied true, and
I knew then I was your saviour
You sat back and laughed awhile, and
I saw flames flash through the winter
Through the winter of your smile.

I saw flames flash through the winter
Yes, you knew you had me still
I felt burning
I felt burning
Many others you would kill.

And I dreamed of bloodlust, of art and dissention,
Charisma impossible, beauty surreal,
Of mirrors and visions and climactic marvels
The thousands of fictions that you made me feel,
And herein lies victory, strange and perplexing,
and futures without you dissolve in the pyre
Gently infernal and lethal as lovers
I looked in your eyes and they flashed...

Through the winter burns the fire.

"and touched me like lightning and dreamt me your hell" Haunting & exotic. A touch of something almost Poe, almost Shakespeare: "Through the winter of your smile." The rhythm, the surreal.
