i'm starting to forget what you look like.

your face, which was once carved into my memory
now seems as distant as the end of the rainbow.

and your smile, which used to get me through the day
is just a photograph left out in the rain.

the aching will stop soon.
and leave just a space.
not a large space,
no one will see it,
but i will always feel it there.

i'm starting to forget the look in your eyes
when you looked into mine
and said you loved me.

not quite sure whether you were ever there at all
or just a dream i made myself believe in.

i guess it doesn't matter either way.

i didn't know how much i missed you
until i realised
i'm starting to forget what you look like.

Beautiful. Almost inspired me to write my ex-girlfriends an apology letter. Almost.

Wow.. this made a big smile on my face at the end. I love how the beginning line is the same as the end that just adds something to the poem. Great write this is.. wow.. I'm just speechless! ~Kirsten~
