I'll Take it From Here Sarge (Rest well Grandpa) a tear jerker

I was O.K.
Till i walked into the room
i saw you there
I Broke down in my own father's Grasp
I cried like a baby
I Held your youngest son as he consoled me

I saw our flag as I walked up Too you
I turned off all emotion,
Snapped to "attention" and Rendered My salute

You looked so happy
This old soldier finally at rest
You were one of the proud
one of the brave
one of the best!

You were the strongest man i ever new
"You are my hero Grandpa,
i want to grow up just like you."
Since i was a child
That's what i would say
Guess what grandpa
i'm a sergeant today!

I'never Flinched during your 21Gun Salute
I even made it through taps, too boot

They gave me a shell from the guns they used
They were all old soldiers too
still battered and bruised

They folded the flag and gave it too Bernie
He's your oldest, His Heart is burning

I got to talk to you before they rolled you away
Saluted,and told you not too worry
I'll make sure they're all ok

You've earned eternal peace, SGT Kayes,
You were one of the best.
