She sits and stares
Consumed in the sound
Of nothingness
Haunted by the shadows
Of the stars
Skipping over the sky

Her word
Was kept.
She never
Did anything
She tried not to hurt him.
Or hurt in return.

She hid each and every
One sign of emotion.
He had brought out in her.
She kept quiet.

She is all used up
Like and old cigarette
Burning through a hole
In her heart.

She’s dazed in a conversation
With her headache an herself.
Begging why.
Pleading why.
Protesting her love was lost.
Even when he took it away.

And her days were bloody
A January massacre of tears.
She worked even harder that day

To forget.

The silence that he hid behind.
When she spoke of her loneliness.
And how she felt so abandoned in
This world of used up, dead trust
Just stranded on a island
Isolated from the comforting heartbeat
Of his chest.

When the phone rang again.

She never answered him.

Just a scream for his silence.
A cry for all those secret tears.

She felt better knowing

soon
she would disappear

It was great, I relived that feeling I sometimes get. That cold shiver acompanied by a weak feeling and seemingly watering eyes.

So so sad... art is that which has infinite possibilities... and it seems you have infinite talent for bringing out the emotion in anything and presenting it clearly and heart-wrenchingly. I love it... your work is addictive.

"She felt better knowing/soon/she would disappear" i felt this ending was very strong. it's always hard to end a poem; espicialy on a note like that.
