I am sorry, I have sinned
I sit here with my head bowed
Willing to take your punishment
Please, know that I have always
Loved you and what you stood for
But I can’t stand the mistakes
That are so often made today
Are you really watching?
Standing over the human race
Learning about the truth of free will
And to what extremes we as humans
Will go to, to make a point
When we are pushed way too far
Is this what you imagined?
Do we live up to your standards?
Or are you ashamed that we
Have fell as far as this?
Because I am…
But I only want to love
Never hate, never turn away
From a soul in need
But bitterness is common
Hatred flourishes…born once again
In this new world of today
Harsh judgments come from everywhere
Church, family and friends
Never speak the truth
Unless you know the truth
Trust yourself…and only you
Because there is a monster
Under our beds, leading to nightmares
Where no one is safe and all is lost
Then you will learn and understand
That happiness is never found
In this world of today
Your only salvation will come
In forgiveness…of yourself.

Wow. I have hit absolute zero. I'm frozen. Preach on as nothing I could preach would do justice, outweigh, give grace, sum up (etc) _this_. Very nicely done. ~Ship!

very presentimental... you premonish the tragedy and so many others very well... I often wonder what role egoism plays in such hateful acts... I opine there cannot be harm done to another without a kind of self aggrandizement... a building of ego... but t

that's just me... loads of truth here, where truth may be a question that tugs at our heartstrings, like a hungry child on an apron at dinner time....
