Eons of time you stood there
Peering into the black
Pleading to see more
Than your reflection staring back

Do you remember the future
That poured out of your grip
Or the acid salt water
That never ceased to drip

Teardrops of liquid nitrogen
Flooding your well
Hiding from you what
Now only suncats can tell

Did the fangs of bitterness
Sink too deep into your mind
That you denied whatever
Truth you sought to find

What caused you to stay
When your tears escaped
To drench your world
And leave it; frostraped

Was it a glimpse
Of a memory, lost
That made you linger
In hybernation, covered in frost
