the sea of sand drowns those that linger too long
and those that cannot swim the desert ocean
sink to their ultimate demise
a light was shown and reflected upon bloodshot blue eyes
the bones were exposed and the veins ran purple
but saviors are seen in the shine of red satin sheets

the pharoh welcomes death upon the cold stone throne
waiting for the Gods to take him whole
how can one live life if no breath comes from these lungs?
the pharoh's nefertiti prays before the cold stone throne
waiting for the Gods to give him whole
how can one have love if no beat comes from this heart?

sound waves sent across dunes of gold
connecting fashion over function
making music to infect the ears still deaf from the moans
naked obligations providing unsaid promises
night sky revealing all her hidden secrets
all her stars

opening up to show the insides raw
wanting to give up the best for the obvious worst
nothing can save someone tempted to lose so easily

where's your faith now, boy?
