Derailed...
Such a lonely,
Tragic word.
Seamless in my eyes,
As a concrete chamber,
Dust encased
Sits gently below my feet
As my memory...
Erased.
Sifting through a last moment,
The stars in your eyes,
The love of the world,
A whispered "take care."
I realize
That nothing could remove this
From your eyes.
Nothing.
Entombed within the moment
Of seven guns firing three shots a piece...
A salute to a fallen brother.
A father.
A friend.
The list goes on.
A list, memories...
Life in soul.
Soul in life.
No bitter ironies,
No bitter words.
No tears could heal the pain,
Or erase the memories
We shall hold forever.
No bursting hearts,
Or late night starts...
To realize that you are already home.
And may you find peace in this,
In life, and in death.
Death is
a word
only used
by the living.
**In loving memory of Barry Crowder, A friend and father-in-law, soon to be a grandfather, and a loving, caring soul. We shall love you forever, and hold you close to our hearts, no matter the tears that will always come to our eyes when remembering you.
