Heartache has a direct relationship to distance and time.
They exponentially increase in intensity while approaching infinity,
A standard unit of measurement used to determine degrees of sorrow.

An infinite stretch of miles

An infinite lapse of time

An infinite woe

Such turbulence unites my innards in mournful retching.
My heart beats to the blue rhythm of pining.
My limbs shake with anguish.
My mind slows down and silences.

My own breath is the only thing that warms me from this cold,
But even as I breathe the words, “I miss you,”
They chill my lips.

Never have I known such an ache.
It rests in my spine
And sleeps in my inner ear.
It lives in my stomach
And wraps itself in my arms.
It sits on top of me,
Everywhere I go.

But when I close my eyes, I block out infinity
And I see only you My Love.
I see only You.

you described with some potent imagery the feeling you have/had, I did feel it became a touch plainer and obvious toward the end, but still..

This is beautiful! I love how you display the anguish so vividly and how easily it can be pushed away for a moment of love and longing. - Brian

"whoever I'm with I'm always, always walkin with you; I'm always walkin with you... and I look and you're not there..." It is amazing how such longing can consume one--you convey it flawlessly, intellectually and emotionally.
