Porcelain headless figures
With perfect figures
Colored in black highlights
Red dripping from the dome
Staring at me without eyes
Almost cartoonish
Playful but deadly
The yellow tape separates
These creatures from this side
Flashing cameras
Whispers echoing on walls
The white chalk visible
The dark red puddle hardened
The creator of these dolls
Limp on the floor below
Ironically severed and painted
No evidence of a struggle
No motive for decapitation
No fingerprints of another party
was ever found
The case was closed as homicide
No one was ever prosecuted
I remember one of the figures
Held a blood dripping sword in his hand
