The world is still,
Yet doves are flying to the highest mountains
Where they run out of air
Falling back down

And everyday I hear those doves cry from under the ground
Within the soil that holds them now
-
The world is still,
Yet unicorns are riding unto the oceans,
Past forests and deserts,
Where they drown slowly with every passing wave

And everyday I see them gasping and fretting
From within the seas that holds them now
-
The world is still,
Yet dolphins are approaching the bottom,
Where it is dark and flesh caves in,
Sinking and shattering,
Lifeless unto the depth

And everyday I feel my heart crushing
With the pain of those dolphins
How their bodies sank within, descending further
To the darkest floor that holds them now...

Beautiful. I was particularly moved due to the mournful ambient music that happened to play as I read, but the text itself would've been more than sufficient.

this is amazing.. I love how you've created such truth into beautiful, fantasy world type images. Especially the first stanza, I love it. So true. Amazing work.

I find a tranquil somberity in this poem...there is some kind of peace conveyed here...crumbling sooner with every word.
