Prolonging absence,
In discolored incarnations of wind-blown rose petals,
Tinged in brown,
Carried so carelessly through the plains of vacant illusions
Wandering around the boundaries of stealthy self-defeat
Pondering at the possibilities of a change
A rapture unseen,
Holding back the claws of the undesirable
The futility in constant guard against conformity
Lending a hand in the pessimistic fate
-
But I am not afraid anymore
In this acquired realm the horizons do not always come
In different shades of grey,
In darkening tones of dire anticipation,
To the everlasting grasp of nocturnal fears resurfacing
-
But have I been the victim of the most profound treachery
A misleading subconscious wrapping me in unimagined fabrics
Left to hold layers of fine silk
To overhang the full extent of my deprecated body, alone,
In between my mind and reality....?

an articulate masterpiece, "wrapping me in unimagined fabric" your words reach far into the sub-concious, creating inspired imagery........so very well done.........urban

Beautiful, vivid imagery was gently expressed through this piece, I could see everything. Gorgeous, absolutely amazing. ~L

"I am not afraid anymore" such substance and meaning found...Of truth and the shreds of this superficial cloth and this pitiful visage we hold...There is no reality, or is there ony reality...

I experienced a mix of emotions reading this.. from melancholy ("the futility in constant guard against conformity") to power ("I am not afraid) to anger ("But have I been the victim of the most profound treachery"). Wow. Fox
