I put myself together
And I didn't fall apart
In fact, I'm more intact than ever
With self hate and doubt departed

I have made myself a man
I really had no choice
So long I lacked an understanding
But now I found my voice

I've extinguished all my hate
But I've kept my love to give
I've erased my messy slate
And I found the love to live

I'll live for all the joys of life
And I'll live for all the pain
I will live to bring the world delight
While she forgets my name.

You know, I'll admit (and I hope you take it for the compliment intended) this piece didn't suit me as a whole, but the last stanza was brilliance. Nicely stated.
