Nothing to gain,
And nothing to lose.
Another cliche
That I've abused.
I lost you and lost
The touch...
Found out that I
Just isn't enough.
I took it to leave it
And left it behind..
I thought I could see it-
Wasn't I blind?
The rhetoric strikes me
And reminds me of you
Laying so passively,
Letting me choose.

The silence surrounds me
And swallows me whole...
No longer your presence
To give me control.
Where did you go?
What did I do?
How in the hell
Could I have lost you?
Bare lies your place
Which rests in my soul..
Dead empty space with
No warmth to hold.
I played to lose
And I lost you
The touch is cold
And I am too.

Bitter regrets
Rouse no amuse..
Nothing seems too
When compared to you.
A lesson I learned-
The hardest way-
Is a lesson well learned
For another day.
You taught me to hold
On to what I have
And never let go
Of what I had.

sigh sometimes it seems that we can never do enough...not in work...not in school...not in love...not in life....

This makes me sad as it embodies regret. Feeling insufficient is terrible as well. Impressive work, dude.
