Walls are deceptive deceiving having us believing
They can keep the pain out without a doubt
They only keep our hearts in!
Trapped within walls in dungeons and halls
And pain from the past
And love that didn’t last
And failure to face
The pain and erase
The hurt and the hate
And embrace our fate!
At last I can see the walls do not protect us
Pain seeps in,
Love seeps out
Our hearts still break without a doubt!
In spite of our will to protect our selves from love rejected
Within our walls hearts neglected
In the end we are hurt none the less
We just go from mess to mess to mess
Neither living fully or completely, unwilling
We cheat our selves of life fulfilling
And at best our walls have become a prison for pain
Trapped in a dungeon of un-release again and again
Give your heart “only to be broken” if you must and trust
Your heart may break many times but live and love
Without walls and halls in dungeons dark
Give your love with all your heart!
