Gentle drops of rain
Soothe my reddened face
And hands,
The perspiration of the day
Relenquished at last

Rain mixes with tears
Each falling to the wet earth
With a sigh
The pain of the day will soon
Be in the past

His hand, so strong and safe
Touches my burning cheek
Easing my hardened heart
And breaking the stone wall
Of a thousand heartaches before
