Terrible footsteps
Sound down the corridor
Just behind me
Getting closer

I feel you breathing
In the night
I know you can’t
Be far behind

Just when I think
It’s finally safe
You grab me from the shadows
And drag me away

I know it’s all over
Now that you have me
I can’t break away
My time’s nearly over

I gasp for air
As you strangle me
I claw at your face
But you’re just too strong

I shouldn’t have come here
Looking for friendship
Ready to forgive
I shouldn’t have come back

You hurt me once
Why would I think
That you would never
Do it again?

Now you have me once again
Tucked neatly under your control
As you stomp out the last
Of the life I made without you.
