A very close friend of mine wrote this. i thought i would share it with all of you here. enjoy
This street of shattered hopes is watched over by a cloudy sky... stark, with half-hearted promises of future snow... the chills grow more intense with each drawn breath... the air is thinner after each step... crumpled papers, thrown out of a car window... they tell the story of a love, blooming, flourishing, then withering, and dying... Everything seems to be lost. You can be surrounded by friends, and feel utterly alone... this world is a long-running joke, but no one truly knows the punchline. Are we just a bunch of twisted marionettes... twirled about by some divinely perverted puppeteer? Or are we truly alone... with only each other for comfort, and onyl each other to keep us warm on these cold, winter nights? Maybe... we are alone... but if we are alone... we are alone together. That's what is truly important on this bleak sphere... no one can be a true lone wolf. Everyone depends on someone else for something. It's inescapable. But, the archtype of dependency is love... it is a totally mutual bond, a connection that can withstand the coldest winter chill, and the brightest rays of sun. The face of the one you love is the morning star... the first light of each day... nto too bright, but just light enough to see.
Those of you that have someone to hold on these cold nights... consider yourselves lucky. Despite distance... whether it be a few blocks, a few miles, or even across a country, the one you love is there, holding you at night. Whether it be physically or not, they are always with you.
And those of you that are currently alone, but are searching for the right person, just remember that the right person is also searching for you at the same time. Love takes time. Have patience, and happiness will find you.
So when you walk the streets at night, with only headlights and neon signs to keep you company... know that there is always someone waiting for you. All you have to do is find them.
