I see the blackness of the night
but it's painted gray
and I see the softness of your eyes
but it's painted gray
The world is all mixed up in one
Lost to the other side of...
and my world has just begun
lost on the the other side of...
the sun will burn away the hate
but it's painted gray
and the moon will learn to hesitate
while it's painted gray
I know that I am such a fool
my face is painted gray
tied in knots of tears and blots
little blots of blue
Technicolored rainbows
They're all painted gray
I'll see the other side of tomorrow
but not today
This world is not a friend
of colors painted gray
this world will be there til the end
it's colors painted gray
I'll be washed ashore
the blue has turned to gray
gasping for light to pierce the night
the night painted gray
my day painted
my life painted gray
