A million stars in the sky
All hidden from my view
Obscured by the constant struggle
Of a man-made world to evolve
Into a world of technology
And battery operated lives

A million clouds in the sky
To hide from our view
Life
And it’s ever changing reason
Seasons
Fading ever faster
In the dying light of natural selection

But who is selecting
And who is electing
Of those selecting
And what they are protecting
Us
You
Them

Nothing

Life is just an experiment
To those who are selected
And we are the subjects
Of a world never tested
Only detested
By those who don’t fully understand
Life

So we burn
And we pillage
And build from the ashes
What we want
What we see
And no matter the suffering
We believe we are free

When will it be enough?
When we no longer trust
When all our metal cages rust
When is it enough?

When the power to play God has been exposed
As only our power to play like a child
And destroy
Rebuild……….
……….Destroy
Rebuild……….
………To a
Bigger
……..better
…………..faster
…………………stronger
abomination of what we already are

Or is it enough
When the child we call our own
Is only a creation
Of the machines we’ve created
Not from our loins
But from our test tubes
Abortion no longer debated
Races no longer hated
Because we all
………..Talk
Walk………
…………Act
Think………
Exactly like every
One
Else

Our biggest deception
Is thinking
That we control
What isn’t really ours
Diseases do not own anything
They only feed
Multiply
Destroy
And move on

A million stars in the sky
And I can’t find a single one
All hidden from my view
All hidden

This was explosive and very well written, the words chosen and the fragments for which they construct paint a very chilling yet honest picture! This is amongst the BEST social commentary I've ever read and was very satisfying! AMAZING! I APPLAUD YOU!

It's scary how honest this work is about the human bio-computer. We all have this common ideology that Life is good and that humans are good individually and it's sadly just not true. We're like parasites, and if an alien race came to exterminate us I would have to sadly agree with them. What is there to save?

Four years after you wrote this, it sounds even more true than ever.

poetry comes in as many forms as the people who compose it, but truth is what creates a hammer of which to break the anvil and cast aside the mould. i love this, thank you

I love this, and the truth it exposes, in such a beautiful way, as moodswing said, it is so sad that this is the truth of our times.

the truth in this piece is a sad one...but you expose it with such style...loved it..

Hey but just think, history always repeats itself so eventually we'll destroy ourselves and get to start all over again. Only to fuck it up all over again:p Interesting work, loved it. ~Ryan
