Too long have I stood back waiting
Waiting for the day
Waiting for some small sign of hope
That you will look this way

Hoping that you'll want me
Want me like I want you
Hoping that you'll see my
Heart that's been kept for you

Wishing that you'd hear me
Hear my despair
Below the levels of normal sound
But still it is there

Longing for another time
Another time and place
When we were perfect
Perfection written on your face

Dreaming you'll come back to me
Back where you must stay
As these thoughts roll through my head
You turn and walk away

eehh...rejection stinks! It's painful, shameful and still leaves us longing for the person who rejected us if we're not luck enough not to hate them for it! I think I see where you're coming from with this...or where I want to see you coming from. I like

Hey, I thought you said you weren't dark and moody.... hmm. :P Nice poem, though. I know the feeling, as everyone in the world does. Keep it up!

Waiting can be hazardous to our mental and physical states. Such a bitch! Your feelings came from deep within and slapped my cheek. Great write. Keep them coming. ~Vel~

"Waiting for the day" this piece reminds me of Lou Reed & the Velvet Underground, but truely yours, I can hear the hiss of a dirty needle on a dirty vinyle record. Well done.
