Fighting demons in my head
There's no peace for me at all
Wanting more, receiving less
Knowing that the walls will fall
Is there none that can hear
Could this be my final cry

Frightened more to face my fears

My own enemy am I

Laying mortar all the while
Bricks behind me tumble down
Welding holes in iron gates
Gates that never touch the ground
Polishing armor with rusted steel wool
Making sure all breaches are found

Waking dreams of solitude
Whispered screams of anger
Dancing through pergatory
Holding hands with danger
Should I try to run away
Is there some refuge

Giving in is not my way

I will not start for you
