she said,

"I don't know why
I'm reading this.

It's wasting time
with tiny dots.

There's too much
information."

"I should be on a
need-to-know basis,
with everything."

And then I went,
"But you're a poet,
so you already are."

great to see you posting again... keep em comin'! I guess this raises a question, what should a poet know... or maybe it asks, what does the poet know; I think it poses for contemplation the epistemic status of poetry itself... to what extent does poetry rise (or fall) to the level of non cognitive, or non propositional knowledge? what can be known and what type of knowing constitutes knowledge that resists expression in propositions? Can it be knowledge if it cannot be claimed 'true' or 'false' (an indicator of non-propositional knowledge, since that which can be expressed as a proposition is also able to be assessed in terms of truth, at least contextually, which isn't surprising since all language is meaningful within context)? Of what value is the knowledge imparted by the poet... and is this information or something that forms within... Wow... I cannot believe just how thought provoking this little poem is. amazing.
