Destruction
abomination
A stirring silence
a echo in the distance
A child's cry
mommy
nothing more than the tattered gas station
and my dead grandfather floating down Beverly street
I stand knee deep in water
searching for my mom who left a week ago to get
food and water
The wind brushes my face and
the stench of decomposing bodies
creeps up my nose
I cannot cry
I have nothing left to cry about.
