Up in flames, burning bright
my heart
to emulate
crossing the heated path of fury
casting a shadow
upon my eyes
the temperature rises
the pain sears and
screams of horror are heard
flames reach higher as
the pain feeds the fire
illuminating the sky
the flames continue to eat me alive
and grow weaker as do I
The fire slowly smoulders into ashes
a tear falls from my cheek
and the fire dies,
but so have I.
