We trickle away into the night,
blending in with our surroundings.
Never to be acknowledged,
until the end is near.
Then a flash of light arises into the clouds.
We are stripped and brought above,
and cleansed with a new light and dignity,
that caresses our soul ever so tenderly.
We rise to the occasion forthright and strong,
to spread this light all through the land.
It spreads like fog slithering through your skin,
and embraces with such passion that shall not let go.
But one must deceive us and go against our will,
for they cannot see and are blinded by the light.
They shiver the light into the dark,
where it dwells till the time merges near.
When they will learn is unclear in my heart,
for i am crushed inside and out.
The time draws near but seems like eternity.
I cannot wait, for my existence is slipping away.
