Promise me
You won't let me die inside..
Won't let my soul harden
Won't let it get
empty and cool..
Promise me
You won't let me die inside..
Won't make me a stranger
to your touch,
unfamiliar with
your soft lips..
Promise me that during
your blur of a day,
among the rush or client meetings
and perpetual paper work
you will recognize that I am
in the same hell you are
and am remembering the face you made
as you slept..
Think of me often,
and smile when you do..
Regardless of where I am
it will warm me to the core
and breath life into my
water-color day.
So please don't let me die inside..
Don't falter and don't fail me -
Don't let me go and please
Don't give up.
