The Trouble With Lovers
When in Rome, they say
Do as the Romans do..
Yet they captured every peril with force
Much as lovers do..
The crack of dawn, lays brazen upon sleepy eyes
subtleties dance mischeiviously therein
smiles do breed even when at peace
Much as lovers do..
A high no one can extinguish
pulses through quenched fires
skipping like stones upon the breeze
Much as lovers do..
~**~ So where then, lies the trouble?~**~
The trouble with lovers??
Bridges crumble to dust
littering the salt of tears
Tears that run towards oceans
Much as lovers do..
Promises muttered in lust
can marr the purest of sins
Sins that lead to damnation
Much as lovers do..
Flesh can turn necrotic
green, from the inside out
a stench that won't be distinguished
Much as lovers do..
Paradise won't last forever
Druids have wisely penned
Penned as they lay in torment
Much as lovers do..
Words often paint a picture
bolder than the bowels of night
Nights spun of deceit
Much as lovers do..
Variety lends us spices
for a tasty dish
so many dishes tempt us
Much as lovers do..
Minds do often change
ecclectic is the mix
The mixture of oil and yen
Much as lovers do..
A touch can leave us trembling
a kiss to weave a feather bed
A kiss meant for goodbye's
Much as lovers do..
Memories often flood us
take us back in time
times, we left to lonesome..
Much as lovers do
~**~Where now is this trouble?~**~
What is left here in its wake?
With time its heart will mend
Til next time that it breaks
