Once I dwelt in darkness
upon a melancholy whim
I walked the blazing sidewalk
when the sun would dim
Within a tide of crimson
pain laced the silken bliss
No soul to take within me
no tender flesh to kiss
But then a surely vision
danced right upon my eyes
Not everyone was hurtful
Nor, did they all spew lies
A pastel ray of sunshine
Kissed my wayward brow
unlocked a peerless moonbeam
And lured me in somehow
I turned a few dark corners
Not allowing myself to rest
A call to all that tarried
Only wishing for the best
The haunts of lost tommorrows
gathered at my back
faux promises of hatred
like minions to attack
A single tear of sorrow
slid down my humble cheek
Famine greed and murder
war pigs slaughtered meek
Children rogued from mothers
Brothers lost at war
Cancer eating millions
to settle paltry scores
Suddenly I envisioned
A world cut free of pain
All with one religion
Noone left to blame
That moonbeam warmed my innards
Like a hearths commanding fire
There indeed was hope for many
Life's trials not so dire
I thought I had it badly
No-one could be worse
Until I saw the millions
forced within their hearst
To humbled knees I fell
Quite thankful for my life
I lived in lands of plenty
Freed by this moonbeam's knife
I soon knew then my problems
weren't so deeply strung
With hope for lost tommorrows
My life had just begun...
