She holds the glass to her mouth
the liquid wets her closed lips
she moves the cup away
and then she slowly licks
the taste of whiskey
smooth then hot
burns her tongue
and soothes the spot
if she dared to breathe
her breath would likely
be of flame and fire
yet with her lips closed tightly
she flicks her wrist
and the liquid, smooth and hot
feeds the cauldron's burning embers
for she'll not drink another drop

This was stunning, I think the length was perfect. So real and shocking vivid, makes you feel as though it's you carrying out this senario. Absolutely beautiful and exquisite, I'm in awe. -L

hmmmmm, very short. I personally am not a fan of short verse, but you managed to do it well. Reminds me of a few ceremonies I;ve had in my time, but I don'y yhink this has anything to do with that...good wrrite though >Raven<

Hmmmm. This was very interesting. Original. I enjoyed the sensory. Like I could feel the burn and taste the rum. Definately a cool write. Well done, lass.
