There's so many voices here
But I'm not hearing a thing
White noise
It's crowded here
But I'm lonely
Isolated
I'm reading a book
But the pages aren't
Holding me in
My eyes keep darting to
The lines below
Or above
Distracted
Make it stop
Give me peace
I'm aching
For a moment
Of bliss
Or a feeling of
Something better
Something that
Doesn't hurt
Anything
Just once
Relief
To know
What it feels like
I seek solace
And I've found
Something
Like peace
But it's lacking
The feeling
That I'm seeking
Like a weight
Lifted off my shoulders
But it's still there
My cross to bear
But no, please
Make the noise cease
Or at least make
The noise hearable
Understandable
Distinguishable
Just make it silent
It's all coming too fast
And I can't keep up
Overwhelming
Make it stop
Give me peace
Make it cease
Just once
Please
Just give me
Silence
