This is just something I've been toying with. I'm not sure it'll ever be finished...
---------------------------------
Living for a dream
of better days to come.
She would sleep forever
if just to improve the odds.
Tattooed regrets on her eyelids,
bleeding heart on her sleeve.
Sweaters hide the bruises
and Vodka brings relief.
Inhaling too much cancer,
exhaling such despair.
She'd have an amazing smile
if only you could tell.
She lives the imperfect life
falling all too fast.
She'd give it up in a heartbeat
for the chance to take it back.
She's perfected fake emotion
she's forgotten all that's real.
Laughing while she's crying
nothing is sincere.
Inhaling too much cancer
exhaling such despair.
She'd have an amazing smile
if only it were real...
