Slight pitter-pat of raindrops
fill the night air
Trees sway with the wind
to the music of the tempest to come
The showers turn to pounding
as a rumble rolls across
Sky is pitch darkness
as far as her eye can see
Lightening strikes down
in a far off distant place
Lending a shimmering radiance
into the ebony night
Crack and roll of thunder
make her feel a blissful anxiety
Sheets of rain pouring down now
creating a booming hush
And
In that perfect veil of silence
she just may be able to hear

herself
