Your puppet strings were cut long ago
Still you sit
A pile of wood on the stage
Waiting
Waiting for the next puppeteer
Your legs folded under you
Poised like a surviving P.O.W.
Your arms limp at your side
Useless splinters
Lifeless on the stage of life
Stage lights of motivation
Long since burned out
Where is your heart now Pinocchio?
Where has your Geppetto gone?
The Nutcracker mourns you
Your loss of mobility
The swan song has been sung
Your wooden dance fades from memory
