The silence of night lulls me to sleep
Only then, do the voices speak in whispers
It is at night that shadows dance
My fears frolic just within sight
Waiting for me to cross into a dream
The only safe place I have left

My fears cause comatose states far too often
This new strain is proving incurable
Immune to my preventative measures
Easily overcoming antibodies of confidence
I have tried every cure
There is too much doubt to overcome

I have never juggled so many fears
I am the “center ring” of the circus of life
It is only a matter of time,
Before I fall off the tight rope of sanity
Cause the spectators to draw their breath
As I land in the frayed safety net of rock bottom
