Beware what fires you tend
Some are not so easy to douse

Red fires are ferocious
Quick to consume

Blue flames are intense
A steady generator of extreme heat

Yellow heat dances with emotion
An expression of desire

White blazes like an expansion of soul
Too intense to behold

Each has a personality
A unique display of destruction

In me, you have tended
A fire of every color

A spectrum of flame
That forges a passion within

I accept the burns
The scolding remembrance

The aftermath of your love
Coals, ash, and embers

Sources of warmth
Keys to re-ignition

Glowing traces of what was
What might be again
