I was asleep before
Unaware of reality
My slumber was deep
Peaceful as a midnight moon
My dreams drifted aimlessly
Tempting me to sleep forever
You awakened me
Roused my from my aged slumber
You lifted me from the depth of dreams
Kissed truth into my lips
I found myself lost
Stumbling along the path of consciousness
Caught between two dreams
Two perfect fantasies
You brush hair from my eyes
Allow the light of you to enter in
My senses come alive
Each eager to know you
You sit quietly beside me
Wondering if you compare to my dreams
I lay still beside you
Wondering if my dreams are jealous of you
For they are incomplete
Unfinished chapters of my soul
My dreams are emotionless thoughts
Distracting me from the realness of you
Lost in your aura
My dreams become distant
Replaced by your desires
Your dream catching love
As the strands of sleep weaken their grip
I look at you
With eternal thanks
I grasp your hand
My awareness is strengthened by you
You and your consuming eyes
I never wish to sleep again
