You wear your crown so smugly
Believing it is your right to rule
You look down on those around you
Feeling protected by your appointed rank
But your tainted crown has slipped over your ears
Made you deaf to your own injustices
Silenced the screams of those you oppress
Blocked the pleas of those you treat with cruelty
The tainted crown has slipped over your eyes
You do not see that we do not need to be ruled
Especially by a crown wearer with no honor
Your subjects grow weary of your double standards
The obsidian trinket would fall if a vote were taken
Your crown being won by the seduction of a king
You openly attack those that threaten you
Not because you possess courage, but because you have the king’s blessing
You are prejudiced nobility with unearned power
Recklessly thrusting your will upon the lowly
Believing you are of a nobler breed
Your actions have proved otherwise
One day the crown will fall
And you will stand before us as equals
If only you were
