The moon hides her face behind a veil of cloud
Suddenly shy of your presence
I turn to look at you, I pity the moon
Never will it capture my attention as you do
The moon's grace is forever diminished
Reduced to the magnificence of a long dead sun
A tiny ember next to your radiance
A fading tribute compared to your brilliance
The lunar lady no longer sings to my soul
Her lips have turned blue with cold
Once you called my name, I heard no other
Midnight moonbeams bring no solace
The moon could come crashing down
I would not mourn
It is you I never tire of seeing
The sparkle of every star in your eyes
Yes, the moon may hold sway over the ocean
Causing the tides to rise and fall
How impotent this power seems
When compared to your power over my heart
Though stars may crown the celestial beauty
I do not bow to her reign
For I kneel before you
Head bowed in reverence to your glory
