Drea and I (The younger years)

Playpen series

I was kickin it in my playpen
Stacking blocks like a king
I was about to make a pen break
When my second mommy strolls in
She's got this new kid in her arms
Some ghetto princess looking for a new pad
My keeper puts her in my pen
The little brat starts eyeing my stash of blocks
I know she wants a piece of the action
I hurl a block at her
Letting her know this is MY turf
She starts wailing like one of those po-lease cars
Second mommy hurries in
I stick my thumb in my mouth, trying to play it off
Second mommy crosses her arms across her chest
Ut-oh
"Now play nice Brian"
I point at the new kid
"She started it. She stole mine block"
"Brian, this is Drea. She's going to start coming here"
"Where her toys?" I ask
"She is going to share yours" She replies
Yeah right
Little angel in the corner stops crying
She's tuggin on her sock like a four month old
Second mom hands her a rattle
She's shakin it like a black lady at a rave
"Hey E-ah" I say
She checks out the size of my diaper
"It's Dree-ah" She replies
Yeah, yeah. Whatever
"I give you three blocks for rattle" I offer
"No. Why your nose so big?" The little squirt asks
"It's no big. It's baby fat" I respond
"Hey Re-ha, let's cry for some food" I suggest
"My name is Drea"
I get my cry on
Second mom appears
A box of animal crackers in each hand
Drea starts smiling
She's still missing some teeth
I crawl over to her
Make a grab for her cookies
She's got a pair that I want to get my hands on
I look Drea over
She's sporting mad bling with a pink plastic barrette
Second mommy hands us our blankies
Lady luck grabs a hold of mine
She has a monster grip for a 30 pounder
It isn't long before she is gurgling and bubbling in dreamland
I grab a corner of the blanket
Take one last look at Drea
Thinking
Yeah, that's my baby girl
