If lies were candy,
I’d be the candy man
Walking down Hershey Street
Living in a gingerbread house
Driving a skittle colored car
I would give candy to everyone
Hiding deceit behind rainbow colors of sweetness
My lies would be sour tartness
Buried in a chewy capsule of contempt
People would come to me
Hungry for lies from licorice lips
They would beg for Baby Ruth rumors
I seduce the youth with penny candies
Tossing tootsie roll taunts into the crowd
As in some Memorial Day parade
I have the sweetest lies
The most colorful half-truths
The entire spectrum of falseness
I sell gumball machines of gossip
All paraphernalia of sugary deception
A confectioner’s heaven
You want what I give
Regardless of cavities of conscience
You only care about short term sweetness
Come my eager eyed children
Listen to what the Candy Man says
