Proud, tall,
standing straight.

Full of strength
burning fate.

Flowers, rain, tropical paradise,
vanilla, the fire.

A sent, a sensory surprise.
A flame of desire.

Below the wax, in the soul
behind the color it stands.

Bravely it meets its fate,
meeting the demands.

Grasping for air, flickering
orange, yellow and blue.

Tired of the bickering
wanting it to be true.

Burn a candle and feel,
the power of fire.
From the window sill
and feel its' desire.........

I have never forgotten the titles and the feel of each of your poems here. Each of them are still burning bright.

One is missing however .. Never could figure out why you took it down. It inspired many.

whoa... this is bliss. I think similar thoughts when I stare at my candles. Its my escape, watching the dancing flame.

braindeadpoet had expresssed my sentiments to a tee. I love it, I'm just not sure why. Once again, good job.

I can't quite figure out why I like this so much. But I do. It has so much depth and many ways to be taken. To me...I'm not sure. I'll let you know. You are making me think! Good job...

Raw Power. Fire Makes Or Breaks Every Time. I Liked This One... It Clearly Holds Great Significance... Other Than The Obvious... Nice. GPhD.

Hmmmm...keep it, BUT I would highly recommend some revisions, nothing major, but definitely some trimming and cleaning up. It has potential though. -SP

On Tuesday July 29th, 2003, Silent_Poet (72) writes:
Definitely improved now that you have trimmed it up some. You could probably do a bit more, but still improved. How about cutting "The wick" from your first stanza? We already know what it is about, right? -SP

candles have always facinated me, they keep me company. Like this poem, I feel like they are sometimes made of more then wax. I really like this poem, it's sensual! {dia}

I'm gonna agree with dia. This was a beautiful look at something that can mistakenly seem so simple. Love it. ^aura^
