My stomach feels empty, even though I've eaten;
and my chest too, like my heart inside is way too small.

My eyes sharply percieve my surroundings
but I don't notice anything beautiful.

The music in my ears might as well be a hundred jackhammers
tearing up the concrete that could have paved my way.

No matter, I have nowhere to go
and the journey would be pointless without you.

This was the first poem I wrote
after the beginning of the end.

When hope had been struck a mortal blow,
but still stubbornly refused to die.

    I've known that feeling before-wondering what the hell you're supposed to do because suddenly there doesn't seem to be any point...great piece
