Floating on sullen updrafts
Gimlet eye on the prize
Boiling sand caldron traps
Dives toward the earth with a cry

Slithering object, glint in the eye
Serpent coils shimmering
Talons flash death from the sky
Ravenous hunger gibbering

Quicksilver attack, the serpent recoils
Flashing a grin full of poison
The raptor struck amid his toils
Sharply drives retaliation

Silent and solemn, the sun shines clear
As nature takes its course
Death claims both the hunters here
The only insurmountable force
