A knock,a tap, invades my sleep
Awake to shallow breathing blight
A desperate moth strikes the window
Beaten to death by love of light
Gooseflesh rises to your presence
My chill room overflowing
I feel you there in the shadows
My red tinge horror growing
In the stillness before morning
I chance to see your face
Ghastly vision in the darkness
Melancholy shadows trace
Poison falls from your eyes
Glistening torrent so forlorn
A dead heart pining still
For lost love abruptly torn
A blacklace nightmare floating by
On a moonbeam torn to tatters
Your visage darkens, dims and fades
As if the daylight matters
A spectral visitor to my rooms
A familiar all these years
Silently beseeching me to stop
Your flood of mystic tears
