I was always
too worried about my poetry.
Polishing the edges with sand paper
trying for that perfect smooth.
Making it easier to swallow
even without water.
I was always
too worried about my poetry.
Coating it a shiny clear of gel
trying for a better way to help
it dissolve quicker into people.
I was always too busy
trying to make my poetry great,
then he spoke to me.
'"To have great poets, there must be great audiences too."'
I can finally breathe
in the triumph of
the buyers needs.
Hurry....
Make me great.
