Its Entrance…
Seeping into my skin, pooling into he stream of my virgin blood,
Writhing and struggling with the crimson liquid as a snake and an eagle
Drowning out my chemical balances, annihilating them in a deadly flood.
Breaking down the walls I kept up for so long, breaking my defenses.
Contaminating my body inside and out, taking away all that I know
Thrashing my insides apart, obliterating them, and ravaging my senses.
Its effects…
Breaking the laws I created, it turns my world into a vortex of anarchy
Where I look upon my face every morning to find the venom’s effects:
Eyes alert and longing for the unknown, ears tuned to the expected ring,
Mouth curved into a smile when it finally reaches across space into my sense.
Cannot concentrate on anything but what the venom has done, unable to fight.
Pretending to not know of its presence, but admit it only by happenstance.
Its cure…
Nothing can rid me of the venom, now prominent through my weakened corpse.
No one can stop its ravaging effects unless they have something man does not.
A cure for my weakness appears impossible, save for some paranormal force.
However powerful, no doctor can rid my mind and body of this venom of influence.
Attacking the heart and obliterating hopes for anything but more is its strategy,
A winning one that seems to pull in more victims every day it is allowed dominance.
Its name…
Used throughout history as something wonderful, beautiful, and even a mistake,
This name has been the downfall of many a great man before it was discovered.
Breaking all rules and leaving nothing but destruction and ruin in its unruly wake,
This name can be uttered and send chills up a spine, arousing the venom inside,
Or can be used as a weapon by an angered woman with unrelenting scorned fury.
The ravaging beastly venom is Love, making the strongest fall and the bravest die.
And now it has me.
